Job Summary
Assist nurses, physicians, and mid-level practitioners in the safe delivery of patient care and coordinate care with other departments. Maintain a well-stocked, no expired supplies/equipment, and keep the Emergency Department clean. Requires six (6) months of Emergency Care Technician I experience or equivalent Florida EMT licensure, plus Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must pass a monitor examination within six (6) months post-hire. All employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, background check, reference verification, health assessment, and credential/license verification. Reports to RN and Assistant Nurse Managers.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Passed monitor examination within six (6) months post-hire
- Six (6) months of Emergency Care Technician I (JC: 770105) experience in an emergency department setting
- Florida EMT licensure (accepted in lieu of required experience)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXIX (Public Health), Chapter 401 (Medical Telecommunications and Transportation), Part III (Medical Transportation Services)
