Job Summary
Administer medications, perform treatments per DVM instruction, and accurately document medical information while responding quickly to crises. Navigate correspondence with pet owners and referring veterinarians, coach lesser experienced colleagues, and manage small animal restraint, venipuncture, IV catheterization, and in-house lab equipment. Maintain high standards of client and patient care during high-stress situations, including weekend and holiday rotations with overnight and weekend differential shifts. This role supports Community Care Veterinary Specialists' vision of collaborative specialty care in Gainesville, Florida.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Veterinary Medicine
- Knowledge of animal handling and nursing
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent communicators
- Multi-taskers
- Able to work independently

- Must be able to lift 40lbs
- Able to calculate and administer medications
- Ability to calculate and administer medications
- Lab sample handling and running in-house lab equipment
- Basic sedation and anesthesia monitoring
- General knowledge of veterinary medicine
- Basic knowledge of emergency medicine and procedures
- Small animal restraint and handling
- Basic and advanced nursing care
- Mastered venipuncture and IV catheterization
- Ability to coach and mentor lesser experienced colleagues
- Respond quickly and calmly to crises
- Maintain a high standard of client and patient care
- Effectively and clearly communicate with DVMs
- Communicate the needs of patients and owners in high stress situations
- Navigate interpersonal, digital, and oral correspondence with pet owners and referring veterinarians

Desired Qualifications
