Job Summary
Monitor Visa and Mastercard bi-annual releases, summarize mandates, and distribute requirements to internal teams while tracking deadlines and escalating delivery risks. Translate scheme changes into internal deliverables, submit prioritized items to Product backlogs, and manage acquirer-initiated changes. Track non-compliance notifications from Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover; identify root causes, define remediation, and support scheme fraud investigations for EMEA customers. Complete mandatory scheme reporting, review interchange and fee changes, and partner with Finance on reconciliation. Build relationships with regional scheme teams, represent Verifone in industry forums, and serve as the primary contact for compliance inquiries. Provide guidance and training to merchants, support Sales on RFP responses, and maintain the EMEA section of the Global Scheme Compliance Dashboard. Operate within the Global Scheme Compliance RACI, owning all accountable items for the EMEA region.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in payment scheme compliance, acquiring operations, or related payments roles
- Experience in regulated payments environments (acquirer, processor, financial institution)
- Strong knowledge of Visa/Mastercard compliance frameworks, mandate cycles, and non-compliance processes
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional compliance deliverables
- Understanding of scheme fee structures, interchange, and commercial impacts
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex regulatory content
- Proficiency in Jira or similar tracking tools
- Fluency in English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Mastercard DIMP, Visa mandate processes, and fine dispute procedures
- Knowledge of EMEA-specific compliance requirements (e.g., TLID, Consumer Choice, Fleet 2.0)
- Familiarity with Verifone acquiring products or equivalent platforms
- Understanding of scheme certification programmes
- Participation in industry forums
- Additional European languages
