EMEA Payables Operations Lead

Job Summary
Payables Operations Lead responsible for directing the AP delivery for large-scale multinational operations in EMEA, acting as the strategic bridge between internal stakeholders and a third-party BPO vendor to ensure on-time vendor payments, mitigate financial risk, and drive process excellence. Oversees vendor governance, reduces escalations, protects operations from disruptions, aligns KPIs and metrics with stakeholders, and supports cross-functional collaboration across a multi-country Shared Service Centre environment. Enables operational stabilisation, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision making using tools like Power BI, SAP, and Oracle within a hybrid work model based in Budapest.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
- 5-10 years of accounting/finance/shared services experience
- experience working with third party providers in shared service/SSC environments
- proven track record in operational stabilisation, issue resolution, and cross-functional coordination
- Strong MS Office skills; Power BI is a plus
- Oracle and SAP Financial systems experience
- data-literate; able to interpret operational metrics and risk indicators
- experience in change management and stakeholder engagement
- ability to manage multiple priorities and align stakeholders
- Professional level of English; other EU languages welcomed
- able to live, work and travel within EU zone without restrictions
