Job Summary
Advise the business on structuring complex derivative transactions, JPM proprietary indices, and bespoke structured products by reviewing deal structures, documentation, and identifying legal, regulatory, and implementation issues. Work closely with Trading, Structuring, and Sales from inception to close, drafting and negotiating transaction documentation while proactively assessing and managing legal, regulatory, and reputational risks. Collaborate across Legal, Compliance, and risk functions to deliver coordinated outcomes, drive process improvements, and support governance forums. Manage external counsel where appropriate to ensure efficient delivery of legal support in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer
- 3+ years' post-qualification experience gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house legal team
- Licensed to practice law in England & Wales or a similar jurisdiction
- Strong transactional background with experience advising on derivative transactions
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Familiarity with UK and European regulations impacting Markets businesses (e.g. MIFID II, EMIR, UK and EU BMR)
- Strong analytical and risk management skills
- Excellent drafting skills
- Solution-oriented approach
- Highly developed organisational, analytical and time management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
