Job Summary
On-site EME Technical Designer for Boeing 787 production at Boeing South Carolina (BSC) in North Charleston. You will resolve design and production issues on the factory floor, coordinate engineering changes and dispositions, and partner with EME SMEs and suppliers to keep build and delivery schedules on track. Responsibilities include serving as the on-site EME focal for production issues and customer requests, managing MRB dispositions with schedule impact, developing standard work packages, coordinating design activity across EME teams (Everett, Brazil, SoCal, FL, OKC), providing practical design input on the floor to minimize rework and maintain delivery commitments, and communicating technical status to production, engineering, suppliers, and customer support organizations. Preferred candidates have experience with MRB processes, certification deliverables, maintenance program inputs, and travel (domestic/international). The role requires an associate degree or equivalent, 3+ years of related experience, and familiarity with Enovia, CATIA, and IVT.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in Systems, Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, Aeronautical engineering, or related field
- 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ years hands-on experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with engineering value streams and design/configuration tools such as Enovia, CATIA, and IVT
- Strong organizational, project management, and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize concurrently moving actions, and engage cross-functional, geographically distributed teams
