Job Summary
Conduct advanced technical, clinical, and research duties in the IVF laboratory, including egg retrievals, sperm and serum preparation, fertilization checks, and embryo grading. Perform Day 1 and Day 3 cleavage assessments while maintaining quality standards and numerical goals set by the Lab Director. Manage ancillary responsibilities such as tank maintenance, inventory control, data entry to SART and NASS, and shipping/receiving reproductive tissues. Work Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Saturday, Sunday, and holiday rotations from 6:30 a.m. to noon. Achieve independent proficiency in basic ART procedures before advancement. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Reproductive Biology or Animal Science
- Meet the College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirement for the number of Biology and/or Chemistry hours (60 semester hours that include twenty-four semester hours which must include 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of biology and 12 hours of a combination of biology, chemistry, or medical laboratory technology in any combination)
- Meet state specific certification/licensure requirements, if applicable
- A minimum of 2 years' work experience in an IVF lab
- Successfully completed a minimum of thirty supervised procedures for new skills (30 of each type of procedure)
- Successfully completed a minimum of twenty independent procedures
