Job Summary
LG Electronics' Emerging Technology Team is seeking an Embodied AI Researcher to advance robotics and embodied AI for real-world home robot applications. The role focuses on foundational and applied research in embodied AI, large-scale data generation through simulation and GenAI, and integration of state-of-the-art models on hardware-software platforms, with a hybrid work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in CS/Robotics/EE or related field (or Master’s with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience)
- 0-3 years of industry experience in embodied AI, robot perception, machine learning, robot action planning and control, or physics simulation
- Strong research experience in imitation learning
- Multimodal representation learning across images, text, audio, tactile
- Self-supervised learning and reinforcement learning
- 3D scene understanding and reconstruction
- LLM/VLM fine-tuning and integration
- Hands-on experience integrating and evaluating AI models with real-world data from RGB/depth/LIDAR and robots
- Knowledge of robot foundation models, vision-language-action models, vision foundation models, large behavior models, visuotactile policy learning
- Familiarity with physics simulation platforms (PyBullet, MuJoCo, Nvidia Omniverse/Isaac Gym, Genesis)
- Excellent verbal and writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Desired Qualifications
- Publications in embodied AI, robotics, or related fields
- Open-source contributions or demonstrated impact on research contributions
- Experience collaborating with universities or AI labs
- Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams
