Job Summary

Embedded Software Tester role for a cross-functional engineering team focused on base software in the automotive suspension domain. Responsible for verifying and validating embedded software functionality, designing and automating test cases, executing tests in HIL environments, analyzing results, and supporting root-cause analysis. Collaborates with software developers, system engineers, safety engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with automotive standards and project requirements across the full software stack from base software to control functions. Requires experience with AUTOSAR BSW, CAN and Automotive Ethernet, UDS, Vector testing tools, scripting for test automation, and knowledge of ISO 26262 and cybersecurity standards. Offers a flexible hybrid working model in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a dynamic, cross-functional team and opportunities for professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Mid-level experience in embedded software testing or embedded software development, with a strong focus on real-time embedded systems.
  • Domain: Direct experience within the automotive industry is highly preferred.
  • Architecture & Coding: Strong understanding of AUTOSAR architecture (specifically AUTOSAR BSW) and proficiency in C programming.
  • Protocols: Excellent knowledge of automotive communication protocols including CAN and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Diagnostics: Deep familiarity with UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services).
  • Testing Tools: Hands-on experience with Vector tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, and vTESTstudio.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in Python, CAPL, or similar scripting languages used for test automation.
  • Low-Level Interfaces: Good understanding of low-level protocols and firmware interfaces (e.g., SPI, UART, PWM, DIO, PSI5).
  • Methodologies: Solid experience with requirement-based testing, integration testing, and system testing in HIL environments.
  • Standards: Working knowledge of functional safety ($ISO\ 26262$) and automotive cybersecurity standards.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Proactive communication style with the ability to initiate discussions and alignment across teams when needed.
