Job Summary

Perform embedded Linux software design, implementation, simulation, and verification for digital correlators using the AMD/Xilinx Vitis tool flow and Python. Solve complex technical issues with minimal supervision while managing multi-tasking demands in a mission-driven, team-oriented research environment. Report to the Digital Design Team manager, collaborating across NRAO and international observatories. Occasional domestic and international travel is required. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with five years of embedded software programming experience on processor-based FPGA devices is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science
  • A minimum of 5 years' embedded software programming experience within processor-based FPGA devices
  • Experience with AMD Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC/RFSoC Embedded SW Design
  • Experience with Embedded Linux OS (PetaLinux/Yocto) and Application Code
  • Experience with AMD Vitis Tool Flow and Board Support Package (BSP)
  • Proficient in Embedded Linux OS (PetaLinux/Yocto)
  • Experience with AMD Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC Processing System (PS) architecture
  • Observatory employees must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Occasional travel may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • Bare metal processing system development is a plus
