Job Summary
Design, develop, test, document, and maintain embedded software and firmware using mixed-signal MCUs for vital sign monitoring platforms. Apply appropriate standards and tools throughout the software development life cycle while engaging with clinicians, customers, and key opinion leaders to understand use environments. Learn physiological signal measurement technologies to support product design decisions and prioritize tradeoffs. This onsite role at Medtronic's Lafayette, CO campus supports the company's mission to alleviate pain and restore health through innovative medical technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering or related engineering/science degree with applicable course work and knowledge
- Ability to work in a team environment both locally and globally
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
- Knowledge of safety risk management including SFMEAs and cybersecurity risk management
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
- Highly skilled in problem solving and analysis with high attention to detail
- General knowledge of biology and physiology
- Regularly required to be independently mobile
- Required to interact with a computer
- Required to communicate with peers and co-workers
Desired Qualifications
- Nice to Have Coursework in medical device development, design control, FDA and MDR regulations
- Class experience in using AI in code and test development
- Digital circuit design knowledge
- Experience with C/C++ and Python
- Examples of projects where you demonstrated skills in systems thinking – ability to consider problems, implementations, and impacts at a higher system level
