Job Summary
Lead Embedded Software Engineer role overseeing a team that develops software to support hardware functionality across devices, with responsibilities including writing, testing, and editing code, mentoring and supervising staff, and coordinating with cybersecurity specialists to ensure secure software. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate client requirements and optimize workflows through automation and testing. Requires 8+ years of hands-on embedded software development experience, Agile experience, SE Linux familiarity, and a Bachelor’s degree (or 10+ years of related experience). Secret clearance or higher is noted; Master’s degree and additional security clearances are also referenced as nice-to-have. The position is full-time, based in Lexington Park, MD, with a Hybrid remote-work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using Agile methodology
- 8+ years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting embedded software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, and optimizing code based on the platform
- 8+ years of experience with embedded software languages and products
- Experience with SE Linux
- Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization
- Experience working with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
- Experience mentoring and supervising employees within a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree
- Nice If You Have: 8+ years of experience with embedded programming and scripting languages, including Java, GoLang, or C/C++
- 8+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Top Secret clearance
- Master’s degree
