Job Summary
Lead feature development and systems integration for embedded software on autonomous robotic vehicles, diagnosing and resolving complex defects across vehicle control, actuator, and perception sensor systems. Write clean, reusable C and C++ code following SOLID principles and established design patterns while building unit, integration, and system simulation tests with a test-first approach. Drive systems engineering participation to ensure robust software integration across hardware and software stacks, support fielded systems, and collaborate with engineering teams on integration challenges. Requires 8+ years of embedded real-time software experience using C/C++, familiarity with multithreaded RTOS, and communication protocols like CAN or ROS2. This full-time W-2 contract role involves working independently across the full development lifecycle from requirements through fielded support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years designing and implementing embedded real-time software systems using C/C++
- Strong familiarity with large multithreaded embedded applications running on an RTOS
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, TCP, UDP, SPI, or RS232
- Experience with ROS/ROS2 or sensor interfacing including GPS, LiDAR, RADAR, or ultrasonics
- Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously
- Ability to communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through electronic means
- Ability to traverse office, lab, data center, and field environments as required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Agile development, device drivers, or flash programming tools a plus
