Embedded Software Engineer III

Job Summary
Lead development of vehicle-level energy management strategies across the full development lifecycle (modeling, simulation, embedded implementation and validation) while balancing range, performance, durability, and driver comfort. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for hardware/software integration, lead or contribute to validation activities across MiL/SiL/HiL and in-vehicle testing, and use connected vehicle data to improve energy management outcomes. Drive alignment across requirements, models, software, and validation results; contribute to continuous improvement with structured engineering methods; provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering and/or Computer Science with 5-7 years of relevant experience or 8+ years in lieu of degree
- Strong technical expertise in energy management in BEVs
- Experience developing production-intent control strategies for BEVs
- Expert experience with MathWorks toolchain, Vector tools, dSpace or equivalent HiL
- Familiarity with embedded systems, ECU integration and vehicle communication networks
- Knowledge of SEDP or equivalent V-model development processes
- Experience in multi-stage validation environments (MiL, SiL, HiL and vehicle)
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present technical tradeoffs, risks, and decisions
Desired Qualifications
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities within engineering teams
- Proven experience with energy management in battery electric vehicles (BEVs)
- Advanced skills in MATLAB/Simulink, Vector tools, dSpace or equivalent HiL platforms
- Experience with MiL/SiL/HiL and in-vehicle validation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical tradeoffs to diverse audiences
