Embedded Software Engineer - Battery Management Systems

Job Summary
Design and test embedded software for Battery Management Systems, implementing core logic for cell balancing, charging control, thermal management, and contactor controls. Integrate supplier sub-systems into the Zoox software stack and create software requirements, design documentation, and test plans. Work cross-functionally with vehicle, controls, and validation engineers to coordinate all body sub-systems and interactions with higher-level systems. Contribute to all phases of the software development cycle, including prototyping, requirements capture, design, implementation, and validation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience developing real-time embedded software for Power Electronics and Battery Management
- Strong embedded C/C++ programming experience
- Experience with embedded micro-controllers and/or microprocessors (ARM, PowerPC)
- Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and system debugging
- Understanding of sensors and actuators and automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN)
Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of control systems for electromechanical systems
- Experience with CAN, LIN analysis, and debugging tools (PCAN, CANalyzer, CANape, etc)
- Familiarity with high assurance development practices and tools (Polarion, ISO-26262, MISRA C/C++, etc)
