Embedded Software Engineer (AUTOSAR)

Job Summary
Specify, design, implement, and document embedded software functionalities for complex automotive systems while developing new features and maintaining existing products. Collaborate with system and application teams to solve technical challenges and work with the SW Verification & Validation group to define test specifications and cases. Support debugging, root-cause analysis, and ensure quality through structured development practices and architecture consistency. Contribute to technical documentation and maintain AUTOSAR configuration standards. Master's degree, 5+ years experience, and Vector tool proficiency required. Hybrid schedule in Hasselt, Belgium.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software development
- Strong understanding of embedded hardware/software interaction
- Experience with AUTOSAR configuration and architecture
- Familiarity with automotive software development processes (ASPICE)
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles
- Fluent in English
Desired Qualifications
- Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, DaVinci Configurator/Developer)
- AUTOSAR Classic or Adaptive Stack (preferably Vector AUTOSAR stack)
- Bootloader design and HSM firmware development
- Static and dynamic code analysis tools and methodologies
- Agile software development environments
- Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Cybersecurity (ISO 21434)
- Embedded system debugging and diagnostics
- Requirements management and traceability (e.g. Polarion, DOORS)
- Understanding of OEM requirements (e.g. STLA Brain)
