Job Summary
Develop embedded Linux access control systems by driving product ideas from concept to completion, tackling complex problems with no clear answers, and owning major technical systems. Collaborate with firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to build cloud-managed solutions for managing doors, schedules, and credentials remotely. Leverage experience in C/C++, Linux kernel patches, and distributed systems to deliver best-in-class experiences, while learning new technologies and contributing to the team's growth mindset. Work onsite five days per week in San Mateo, CA, supporting a rapidly scaling platform deployed across 170+ countries.
Required Qualifications
- BS or a graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 1-3 years of experience working on Linux development as a Software Engineer
- Proficient in C/C++
- Familiar with Linux servers, Linux device drivers, Linux kernel patches, secure operating systems and security focused programming
- Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience working with embedded Linux
- Bash scripting experience
- Experience working with Distributed Systems
- Understanding of HTTP and practical debugging technique
- Experience with Yocto
- Familiarity with Secure Boot
- Familiarity with Go and Python
- Familiarity with WebRTC
