Job Summary
Design optimized electrical power systems and develop high-reliability electronics for airborne and space missions. Create schematics and PCB layouts, select components, and coordinate fabrication adhering to AS9100 aerospace standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to define hardware requirements, validate subsystem architecture, and ensure EMC/EMI compliance. Apply skills in power budgeting, battery design, and processor interfaces to deliver integrated electronic systems. Join the Embedded Systems Team at GalaxEye, working closely with the founding team to advance satellite image acquisition and remote sensing technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors/Masters in ECE/Electrical or other relevant scientific or engineering fields
- 0-2 years of hands-on experience in working with electronics and an understanding of the process from defining the requirements to subsystem level architecture, design, validation, and production
- Excellent conceptual knowledge of Analog Electronics and Power Electronics
- Strong working knowledge of best practices for military/space grade PCB layout and fabrication
- Solid understanding of timing principles, including clock domain crossing and timing closure
- Strong debugging and analytical skills
- Solid programming skills (C / C++)
- Power budgeting and board-level component selection
- Battery pack design, charge/discharge simulation, testing, and implementation
- Solar panel MPPT and battery charger design
- PCB Layout design, development, and fabrication
- EMC/EMI compliant circuit design
- Processor peripheral interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI, high-speed serial I/F's, PCI-Express, USB, MIPI, LVDS, storage)
- Lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc)
- Good communications skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent creative thinking and attention to detail
- Ready to learn new concepts, stay up-to-date with the state-of-the-art in the field and implement them
- Ability to work within deadlines and dynamic work environment
Desired Qualifications
- Well versed in PCB design and assembly standards such as AS9100 is highly preferred
