Job Summary
Embalmer responsible for the preparation and presentation of the deceased to ensure client families’ expectations are exceeded for memorial services. Duties include embalming, applying cosmetics, casketing, proper preparation for interment/cremation, and preparing remains for transportation. Ensures accurate paperwork (permits, logs, identification tags, certificates) in compliance with laws and company guidelines. Oversees and instructs Apprentice Embalmers, participates in on-call coverage, and maintains a clean, compliant preparation room and refrigeration. Requires 2 years of licensed-embalmer experience, a valid Embalmer’s license (funeral director’s license preferred), a valid driver’s license, and strong computer proficiency. Indoor office setting with potential outdoor duties; must be able to lift up to 75–100 pounds, and adhere to safety procedures and PPE. Location: Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise, ID. Compensation: $25–$30 per hour; Full-Time.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience as a licensed Embalmer
- Valid Embalmer’s license
- Valid Funeral Director’s License highly preferred
- Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing
- High degree of overall computer proficiency
