Job Summary
Prepare decedents for final disposition and storage, manage casket inventory, and maintain preparation and dressing rooms. Receive and dispatch first calls while providing client service and communicating with other departments using NetSuite for accurate recordkeeping. Work a 2nd shift schedule from 3pm to 11:30pm, five days a week, handling cremated remains disposition and mortuary supply management. Maintain professional technical knowledge of California funeral and cemetery regulations.
Required Qualifications
- AS Mortuary Science
- California Embalmer's License
- Must be a licensed embalmer in the state of California
- California state laws and regulations
- CA Code of Regulations Title 16, Division 12. (Funeral Regulations)
- CA Code of Regulations Title 16, Division 23. (Cemetery Regulations)
- Business and Professions Code – Cemetery and Funeral Law
- Mortuary procedures, rules, and general practice
- Medical terminology
- Familiarity with Microsoft software, including the latest versions of Windows, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Able to use all embalming instruments, machines, and body/casket lifts
- Team player able to work well with different personalities
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- 2nd Shift Schedule from 3pm- 11:30pm (five days a week)
- Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Oracle's NetSuite a plus
