Job Summary
Design, develop, and evaluate electronics for CNC computer control systems by creating schematic designs, simulations, and supporting documentation. Investigate design failures through data analysis to provide mitigation suggestions and recommend workflow improvements. Prepare board layouts and select electronic parts while adhering to system specifications and electrical best practices. Utilize test equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters to verify hardware performance. Requires some board-level design experience, familiarity with Altium or Pads, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Salary range is $30.00 - $50.00/hr with 0-5% travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Some board level design experience
- Knowledgeable of either Altium or Pads or similar to create schematics
- Must be familiar with hardware designer
- Experience with simulations using a SPICE based tool
- Some exposure to board layout
- Knowledge to select electronic parts based on a specification
- Experience in general electronics
- Experience with general test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters and current probes
- Communicates technical ideas clearly
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications when appropriate
- Experience working with source-control system
- Ability to analyze competing designs and select the best option
- 0-5% Travel Required
- Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required
- Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations in English
- Must have the ability to write analytical and/or technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and create instructional reference material
- Must be able to speak effectively before groups, customers, employees of the organization and/or the general public
- Must have an advanced understanding of mathematical concepts including but not limited to probability, statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, and/or calculus
- Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions such as mathematical and/or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
