Job Summary
Prepare the casting area, begin and maintain casts, collect samples, and operate remote control cranes while monitoring for defects. Operate homogenizing furnaces, cooling chambers, band saws, and lathes to prepare product for shipping, ensuring proper feeds and speeds. Maintain housekeeping in finishing and casting areas, perform minor repairs, and check thermocouples for proper operation. Load and unload equipment using forklifts or cranes, inspect material quality against customer specifications, and record dimensions using approved methods and SOPs. Report defective material or faulty equipment immediately and maintain inventory of supplies. Work any shift, including night differential, with full PPE compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass minimal physical test and background screening
- Candidates must be able to work any shift
- Ability to identify problems, inform others, and assist in the solving of such problems
- Judgment and decision-making abilities to prevent errors, scrap parts, safety hazards, or other poor results pertaining to job duties
- Ability to read and interpret work documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, quality instructions, and other related documents
- Ability to work with others as a team
- Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules
- Promotes a safety culture and ensures compliance with safety policies and rules
- Provides for continuous reduction of workplace hazards, risks, employee accidents
- The employee must occasionally move 50+lbs with assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
