Job Summary
Design and implement engaging language instruction for English Language Learners in general education or pull-out sessions to foster conversational and academic fluency. Identify students qualifying for supplemental services using school criteria, administer annual assessments, and maintain comprehensive files including assessment data and parent contact logs. Collaborate with general education teachers and the ELL team to ensure classroom environments support diverse learners, while serving as a resource to families regarding student progress. Participate in multi-disciplinary and IEP meetings as needed, and lead staff development workshops on English language acquisition best practices. Maintain current knowledge of state laws and research to individualize instruction for every student.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, ELL, Literacy or equivalent
- PA Intern, Level I or II Certification required
- Clear understanding of standards-based and differentiated instruction, language acquisition, and English
- Strong collaborative capabilities and proven ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to individualize instruction according to the learning styles, interests, and cognitive processing skills of students
- Commitment to meeting the needs of every child in a diverse population
- Commitment to his/her own learning and professional development
- Willingness to share expertise and resources with students, families, and staff
