Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and applications using Elixir and the Phoenix framework. Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to define and implement efficient and reliable APIs. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while optimizing application performance, scalability, and reliability to handle high traffic loads. Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing codebases, conduct thorough testing, and implement automated testing strategies. Participate in code reviews, improve development processes, and stay updated with the latest trends in Elixir and related technologies. This remote role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, strong proficiency in Elixir and functional programming, and familiarity with PostgreSQL and RESTful APIs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven work experience as an Elixir Developer or in a similar role
- Strong proficiency in Elixir programming language and the Phoenix framework
- Experience building scalable and fault-tolerant applications using Elixir/Erlang OTP principles
- Solid understanding of functional programming concepts and design patterns
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and working with SQL queries
- Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration
- Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve complex issues
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team
