Job Summary
Maintain cleanliness of common areas, vacant apartments, laundry rooms, and exterior grounds including breezeways and stairwells. Prepare units for move-ins with light cleaning and power-washing, while removing trash and debris. Report safety hazards, needed repairs, or unusual conditions to management and organize housekeeping supplies and equipment. Follow all company safety guidelines, OSHA laws, and cleaning standards. Achieve Fair Housing certification and participate in required training. Work evenings and weekends as needed, maintaining a professional appearance and interacting effectively with residents and teams.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be willing and able to work effectively and efficiently as a member of a professional apartment maintenance team including punctuality.
- Must be willing and able to work effectively and efficiently on an independent basis.
- Must be willing and able to effectively interact with a wide variety of personalities, maintaining excellent public relations on an ongoing basis.
- Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to smile under all circumstances.
- Achieve Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents.
- Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations.
- Be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Present self in a neat, clean and professional manner at all times throughout the workday and/or whenever present at the community.
- Dependability--Follows instructions responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
Desired Qualifications
- General Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven background in housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning experience is preferred.
- Experience in maintaining strong attention to detail managing high standards for cleanliness.
- Past experience in high standard property (Class A) or relevant is preferred.
