Job Summary
Oversee clinical and research expansion within the breast cancer service line while directing the development of a comprehensive program at the Knight Cancer Institute. Establish an innovative research portfolio and dedicate 50% of time to building clinical research through investigator-initiated studies and translational outcomes. Manage resources from the Leonard Schnitzer Endowment to coordinate scholarly activities and integrate programs with existing strengths. Lead interdisciplinary collaborations to advance the treatment of breast cancer and coordinate with institutional leaders to support clinical growth. Participate in medical student education, patient care, and administrative committees as approved by the Chair and Division Head.
Required Qualifications
- MD, MD/Ph.D., or equivalent
- Must qualify for the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor at OHSU
- M.D. board certification in medical oncology
- Eligibility to obtain a license to practice medicine in Oregon
Desired Qualifications
- A collaborative and creative individual with a distinguished record of publications and funding in breast cancer research
- A proven physician leader who is intimately familiar with hospital organizations and functions
- Ability to lead a strong breast cancer research program that advances the clinical and translational research agenda of the Knight
- Experience managing clinical trials
- Previous experience building or expanding a program, group, or initiative within an NCI-designated cancer center
- A commitment to developing and fostering a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to cancer services and patient-centered care
- Record of excellence in patient care
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, sustainable partnerships
- Personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and experience working with and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
- Demonstrated business and financial management skills, including budget management and revenue generation
