Job Summary
Eligibility Specialist role focused on determining eligibility for services and providing enrollment assistance for ACA Marketplace, AHCCCS, and discount programs at Elk Ridge Community Health. Responsibilities include training staff on regulatory changes, generating reports, assisting consumers with enrollment to HEAPlus/ACA Marketplace, communicating options and requirements for Medicaid/AHCCCS, and fostering community outreach and education on eligibility services; role requires HIPAA/compliance awareness, strong customer service, and ability to work with diverse populations. Must obtain Certified Application Counselor certification and maintain required credentials.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years experience working as an Eligibility Assistant, Outreach Worker, or Certified Application Counselor for the Affordable Care Act
- Upon employment: gains and maintains certification and licensing as a Certified Application Counselor for the Affordable Care Act
- Fingerprint Clearance Card Level I (current valid and in good standing or apply within seven working days after beginning employment)
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements (if driving during work hours)
