Job Summary
Gather client data face-to-face or via phone for public assistance programs including TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid. Verify all information meets state policies by obtaining release forms, medical records, and financial documents. Review regulations with clients and utilize automated systems to determine eligibility. Enter data into the state database and respond to inquiries via phone or email. This role supports the Division of Family Resources in determining eligibility for Indiana residents.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years' experience in a social service environment, state or local government
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services
- Basic math skills
- Case management skills
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Solid computer skills, Microsoft Office proficiency
- Highly organized and analytical team player
- Independent worker who is a self-starter that is reliable and dependable
- Strong customer service background with a professional demeanor
- Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands
- Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Case Manager experience
- Previous experience as a Case Manager, Eligibility Specialist, Eligibility Associate, Office Manager, Call Center Customer Service Specialist, or Client Specialist
