Job Summary
Gather client data face-to-face or by phone, verify accuracy against state policies, and obtain necessary release forms and medical records. Confirm income, assets, and financial documents while reviewing regulations with clients. Utilize automated systems to determine eligibility for TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid, then enter data into the state database. Respond to inquiries via phone or email in a timely manner. This role supports the Division of Family Resources in processing public assistance applications for Indiana residents.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years' experience in a social service environment, state or local government
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services
- Basic math skills
- Case management skills
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Solid computer skills, Microsoft Office proficiency
- Highly organized and analytical team player
- Independent worker who is a self-starter that is reliable and dependable
- Strong customer service background with a professional demeanor
- Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands
- Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Case Manager experience
- Previous experience as a Case Manager, Eligibility Specialist, Eligibility Associate, Office Manager, Call Center Customer Service Specialist, or Client Specialist
