Job Summary
Gather client data face-to-face or via phone for TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid programs. Verify income, assets, and legal documents against state policies while obtaining necessary release forms and medical records. Utilize automated systems to determine eligibility and enter data into the state database. Review regulations with clients and respond to inquiries promptly via phone or email. This role supports the Division of Family Resources in Knox, Indiana, assisting residents with public assistance applications. The position offers a 37.5-hour Monday-Friday schedule with a starting wage of $16.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years' experience in a social service environment, state or local government
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services
- Basic math skills
- Case management skills
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Solid computer skills, Microsoft Office proficiency
- Highly organized and analytical team player
- Independent worker who is a self-starter that is reliable and dependable
- Strong customer service background with a professional demeanor
- Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands
- Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Case Manager experience
- Previous experience as a Case Manager, Eligibility Specialist, Eligibility Associate, Office Manager, Call Center Customer Service Specialist, or Client Specialist
