Job Summary
Eligibility Screener working onsite in Escondido, CA to verify patient insurance coverage, review financial/demographic information, determine eligibility for healthcare benefits or assistance programs, and support collection of records and data entry while maintaining HIPAA/compliance. Responsibilities include insurance verification, patient communication, documentation, data entry, and coordinating with physicians, case managers, and hospital staff to ensure accurate eligibility determinations and reduce billing issues. Requires High School diploma or GED, proficiency with Microsoft Office, ability to maintain confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills; bilingual Spanish a plus. Shift is Tue–Sat 8:00am–5:00pm PST in a hospital setting. Compensation is $24.00/hr with quarterly bonus eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED certificate or equivalent
- Previous healthcare coverage/eligibility experience preferred
- Proficient personal computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Willing to work inside of a hospital including visiting hospital rooms to complete tasks
- Ability to work in a team fostered environment
- Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment
- Ability to prioritize and organize work
- Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule
