Job Summary
Make decisions on accepting or rejecting workers compensation claims and transition them to Case Managers for ongoing management. Calculate PIAWE and advise Dispute Resolutions Managers on decision rationale while identifying recovery potential. Apply strong technical knowledge of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation & Compensation Act 2013 and associated regulations to support business and Worksafe objectives. Utilize analytical and communication capabilities to negotiate and influence outcomes, maintaining a strong customer service focus. Demonstrate resilience, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail within an environment where you directly shape how leading insurers operate their core claims systems.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years or more experience in initial claims assessment (Case Manager), or 1 year or more in a paralegal or legal assistant position
- Strong working knowledge of Workplace Injury Rehabilitation & Compensation Act 2013 and associated Regulations, and/or a Legal Qualification
- WorkCover scheme
- Ability to follow rules and regulations
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ACCtion and Novus, or similar case management system
