Job Summary
Eligibility Benefits Specialist at EMPACT-SPC handles verifying insurance benefits and AHCCCS eligibility for outpatient behavioral health services, analyzes benefit issues, assists with AHCCCS enrollment, updates demographic data in the EHR, and supports the clinic with related duties. Requires at least a high school education or GED, 2 years' AHCCCS application experience, HIPAA knowledge, strong attention to detail and communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems, and preferred Spanish bilingual ability. Shift is Mon-Fri 8am-5pm in Tempe, AZ; in-person role with potential driving requirement and fingerprint clearance.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum two (2) years direct experience with the AHCCCS application process
- Insurance verification eligibility experience preferred
- HIPAA knowledge and confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with EHR
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- Eligible to obtain Fingerprint Clearance Card or have one
- Ability to maintain calm in crisis situations; independent and cooperative work style
