Job Summary
Inspect and oversee all production line inspections of finished goods manufactured in the production area, reviewing batch ticket checklists for clearing areas, correct packing materials, and accurate encoding devices. Verify fill weights, label placement standards, and collected retain samples, then check bills of materials against carton labeling and packaging components. Inspect first finished goods for defects, circle out-of-specification results, and document follow-up actions in job history notes. Complete Q.C. inspections four times hourly, report problems to the shift lead immediately, and coordinate with operators to stop processes for evaluation and correction. Perform assigned tasks in the production area and clerical duties in the laboratory while maintaining a safe, clean environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Experience with Pallet Jacks, tape guns, tape machines, heat guns, labelers
- Basic knowledge of personal computers
- Ability to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to the individual or others
- Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety
- Regularly/Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend
- Regularly/Frequently use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate tools
- Regularly reach with hands and arms
- Climb stairs
- Occasionally/Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone
- Requires composure and ability to prioritize and manage many urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high-level of competence and accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality
- Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered
- Manufacturing setting with moving machinery
- Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with Liquid filling Machines, cappers, conveyors, lot coders & shrink tunnels preferred
