Job Summary
Receive and load out grain while maintaining quality controls and segregating shipments by type and condition. Perform preventable maintenance on elevator equipment including grain dryer repairs and lubrication. Secure facilities and equipment at closing, monitor inventory levels, and read weekly temperature monitors. Adhere to safety policies and government regulations while communicating effectively with customers and management. Operate scale software and seek opportunities to improve operational efficiencies. Maintain accurate records and present a clean, professional appearance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Previous experience related to grain, feed, fertilizer, chemicals and/or farm supplies
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the cooperative
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights
- Commercial Driver's License Class B with Haz-Mat and Tanker Endorsements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License Class B with Haz-Mat and Tanker Endorsements
- Inspector's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Inspector's license
- Weigher's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Weigher's license
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations
- Ability to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards
- Ability to take appropriate precautions
- Ability to choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling
