Job Summary
As an Elevator Mechanic, you will perform installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators, escalators, and other lifting equipment. Your responsibilities include inspecting equipment, diagnosing faults, making recommendations for repairs, and conducting regular maintenance inspections. A focus on customer service is essential, along with strong problem-solving skills applicable in emergency situations. You must hold a valid Mechanic’s license, have completed relevant apprenticeship or technical training, and possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in the elevator industry. Physical capability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces is required.
Required Qualifications
- State and/or city issued Mechanic’s license as required
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school training in elevator repair
- Minimum of 4 years of elevator experience
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes
- Strong attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
- Valid driver's license
