Job Summary
Design learning experiences and assessments that allow students to demonstrate applied skills while infusing contextual learning opportunities into the visual arts curriculum. Maintain effective, positive classroom management and actively engage students in using technology for individual and collaborative learning activities. Use the PLC process to improve instruction, learning, and assessment, and collaborate with assigned professional learning communities to research and implement innovative ways to improve student learning. Provide an instructional program geared to meet individual student needs at their instructional level. Full-time position for the 2026-27 school year. Requires a valid Washington State certificate with an endorsement in visual arts, a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), and advanced proficiency in Spanish. Salary range $66,175 - $124,733.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Washington State certificate with an endorsement in assigned teaching area(s)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Advanced level proficiency in Spanish language on ACTFL Written and Oral assessments
- Must be fluent in Spanish and English
- Willingness to participate in staff development courses aligned with the school and district initiatives
- Willingness and desire to assist a teaching team in implementing an interdisciplinary instructional program
- Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse
- Familiarity with a wide variety of teaching techniques which are used to maximize student learning
- Advanced ability to use technology as an effective communication, planning and instructional tool
- Willingness and desire to collaborate with assigned PLC
- Proven ability to provide an instructional program for students geared to meet their individual needs at their instructional level
- Willingness to communicate with parents
- Willingness to work closely with instructional committees to research, plan, and implement innovative ways to improve student learning

- Successful teaching experience in middle and/or high school
