Elementary Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant supports the Lead Teacher with lesson delivery and student learning, helps manage the classroom in the absence of the teacher, enforces policies, assists with student arrival/dismissal and transitions, participates in program planning, engages in activities outside the classroom, responds to behavioral and emergency situations per school policies, monitors and reports on students’ academic, physical, and emotional well-being, collects data in a timely manner, attends staff meetings and supervisory conferences. The role is a 12-month position with flexible hours (after hours, weekends and holidays as needed). Requires a Bachelor’s degree and valid New York State Teaching Assistant Certification (or in process within 30 days of hire). Salary ranges from $45,000 to $50,000 and benefits are provided.
