Job Summary
Elementary Teacher at Uncommon Schools responsible for co-teaching a high-engagement, standards-aligned elementary program across Math, Reading/Writing (ELA), Science, and Social Studies; will analyze student work with leadership to differentiate instruction; build positive classroom culture, partner with families, and participate in weekly school-wide meetings and PD. Responsibilities include instruction, data analysis of student work, and supporting school culture through routines like arrival, lunch, assemblies, transitions, and dismissal. Requires a bachelor’s degree and NY state certification eligibility; candidate should be committed to urban education, equity, and professional growth, with 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred, and enrollment in a teacher-prep program if not Educational-certified yet.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Must meet New York state certification eligibility requirements
- Enrollment in a teacher preparation program and maintenance of a GPA of 2.5 or higher during employment if not having a degree in education
- Certification is not required to be hired at Uncommon, but meeting NY state certification eligibility is required
