Job Summary
Elementary Teacher at Uncommon Elementary School: co-teach in a fast-paced, culturally-responsive classroom; teach math, reading and writing (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension), ELA with meaningful texts, science (geology, astronomy, ecology, cycles), and social studies with emphasis on diverse histories and civic awareness. Analyze student work trends weekly with principal/coach; differentiate instruction to meet all learners’ needs. Build positive relationships with students and families, participate in weekly school-wide meetings, and support morning arrival, lunch, and after-school activities. Requires a bachelor's degree and NJ certification eligibility; 1–2 years of experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NJ state certification eligibility requirements (a final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 for graduates on or after 9/1/16, or 2.75 if you graduated prior to 9/1/16)
- All instructional staff are required to become certified in New Jersey within a reasonable period after beginning employment
