Job Summary
Elementary School Teacher at Uncommon Elementary School in an urban, public-charter network. Responsibilities include co-teaching and creating a joyful, inquiry-driven classroom across math, reading/writing (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension), ELA curriculum, science (geology, astronomy, ecology, cycles), and social studies emphasizing diverse histories and civic awareness; weekly data analysis with principal/ instructional coach; differentiating instruction to meet all learners; fostering positive relationships with students and families; participating in school-wide meetings, mentorship, and coaching; supporting arrival, lunch duties, and after-school activities; and meeting NY certification eligibility requirements. Compensation ranges from $50,000 to $64,700 with benefits, and is based on full-time teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- NY state certification eligibility requirements or enrollment in a teacher preparation program with GPA 2.5+ during employment if not currently degreed
