Job Summary
Elementary School Teacher role focused on co-teaching and creating a joyful, engaging classroom. Responsibilities include delivering math, reading/writing (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension), ELA curriculum, science (geology, astronomy, ecology, cycles in nature), and social studies with emphasis on diverse histories and civic awareness. Data analysis with principal/coach to differentiate instruction; building positive relationships with students and families; supporting school culture; participating in weekly meetings and team planning; duties during morning arrival, lunch, assemblies, class transitions, and after-school dismissal; engaging in ongoing professional development and mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (required)
- NY state certification eligibility requirements (enrollment in teacher preparation program and maintain GPA 2.5+ if not already educated in teaching)
- 1-2 years experience preferred in urban K-12 settings
- Academic expertise in Elementary Education, Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting students' social emotional and academic development
- Enthusiasm for working with families in the best interest of students
