Job Summary
Lead classroom instruction by developing daily instructional plans, delivering subject matter through varied strategies like group work and mini-lessons, and continuously evaluating student academic and social growth using differentiated instruction. Supervise all students within the assignment, maintain records for attendance and evaluations, and communicate regularly with parents to reinforce interest in progress. Provide prompt feedback on in-class and out-of-class work, engage in faculty committees, and participate in scheduled professional development to enhance the educational program.
Required Qualifications
- valid Iowa teaching certificate
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in elementary education, or an acceptable content area
- proper state certification and licensure for the position
- demonstrate continued professional growth specific to the program(s)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and groups from all levels of the organization, including staff, principals, and central administration
- effective listening skills
- solid background in assessment
- ability to interpret data, which may be very complex and varied
- ability to apply assessment strategies and link assessment data analysis to school improvement, curriculum, and professional development
- competent in a variety of methods in research and information gathering through technology
- ability to present and communicate through technology
- May periodically have moderate physical demands and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
