Elementary Teacher

Identify student educational needs and develop formal plans to address strengths and weaknesses. Create lesson plans and deliver instruction in one or more subjects while teaching study and communication skills. Observe students to evaluate abilities, working individually or in groups to improve performance and prepare for standardized tests. Mentor students as a class, in small groups, or one-on-one while maintaining a positive classroom environment and enforcing rules. Communicate progress with families, counselors, and administrators, and document educational goals as required by facility and state. Supervise students outside the classroom during lunch or detention and adhere to treatment plans for specific learning challenges.
