Job Summary
Plan, instruct, and organize instructional environments to support student learning and social development. Monitor student safety and well-being during inclusive activities while maintaining a clean, orderly classroom. Establish rules for student participation, movement, and transitions; promptly address inappropriate behavior. Deliver lessons with clear objectives, examples, and demonstrations, ensuring high student time-on-task through brisk pacing and efficient transitions. Circulate during work to check progress, provide prompt feedback on in-class and out-of-class assignments, and affirm correct responses. Align instructional plans with system-wide curricular goals, use diagnostic data to revise objectives, and maintain accurate records of student performance. Treat all students fairly, interact effectively with parents and co-workers, and adhere to professional ethics and school policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an approved education program in subject area
- North Carolina teaching license
- Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Ability to perform general clerical duties
- Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom
- Ability to operate common office machines
- Ability to maintain basic files and records
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
