Elementary Teacher — Part-Time After School

Job Summary
Afterschool Elementary Teacher responsible for planning, instruction, and assessment of developmentally appropriate programming for K-5 students in an after-school setting (approx. 12-14 hrs/week). Create whole-group lessons and center-based activities to support math and reading, provide academic support during homework, and plan enrichment activities (art, technology, fitness). Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant classroom; provide instructional leadership through curriculum planning, modeling, and professional development; collaborate with the Director of Student Performance to align supports with the regular school day. Utilize student assessment data to inform instruction, differentiate learning, recruit and train volunteers, and maintain strong communication with parents about progress and program expectations. Work with co-teachers and managers to improve program quality, and support six parent events yearly. Requires background screening and FDLE fingerprinting; ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform in both indoor/outdoor classroom settings; bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole).
Required Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in a non-educational field but with at least 2 years of instructional experience.
- Or a degree in education with or without a valid Florida teaching certificate.
- For K-5th program, must obtain Foundation Florida DCF certificate within 1 year of employment.
- Current first aid and CPR certificates (can obtain within 90 days of employment).
- Able to pass background checks and FDLE fingerprinting.
