ELEMENTARY TEACHER (ONE YEAR ONLY)

Job Summary
One-year contracted elementary teaching position in Affton, Missouri for the 2026-27 school year (1.0 FTE) with district-provided benefits; compensation per the 2026-27 Teacher Salary Schedule. The successful candidate will support the academic, social and emotional needs of students, demonstrate reliability, initiative, and self-direction, and work with staff to provide instruction and behavioral support. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and Missouri elementary teaching certification (3-5); experience preferred; ability to deliver engaging lessons in person and in a virtual setting; strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills; ability to work with a multi-ethnic student population and participate in ongoing professional development. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Appropriate Missouri teaching certification for elementary grade levels (3-5) is required
- Prior teaching experience in a school setting at the elementary level is preferred
- The ability to produce engaging lessons in person and in a virtual setting is required
- The ability to listen well and take initiative to solve problems is required
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation are required
- The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multicultural student population is required
- The ability to remain flexible and positive with the demands and assignments of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment is required
- The ability to work independently, use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in stressful situations is required
- The ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact positively with students, staff, administration, and the community is required
- The ability to work as a team player, communicate and collaborate with administration, staff and other professionals is required
- The willingness to learn new material and attend professional development, conferences and workshops is required
