Job Summary
Develop a developmentally appropriate educational program for students in grades 2 and 3 by creating lesson plans, delivering instruction in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, and managing classroom behavior to ensure a safe environment. Supervise students within the classroom and other assigned areas while assessing progress toward learning targets, collecting data to document outcomes, and providing targeted interventions for individual needs. Collaborate with instructional staff, administrators, and parents to improve instruction, discuss student progress, and address social, emotional, and learning problems. Maintain consistent attendance to fulfill supervision and instruction duties in compliance with district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- A valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Consistent and on-time attendance
- Regular attendance
- Rarely absent or late unless the situation is of an emergency nature
- Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education
- Demonstrated experience with elementary learning principles
