Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for Elementary-Aged students with Autism. Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP while meeting grade-level content standards with appropriate modifications; applying positive reinforcement and behavior modification to foster an inclusive, safe learning environment; collaborating with students’ service providers; maintaining regular communication with families; developing and implementing Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) as needed; and ensuring safety through Shore's behavioral safety training. The role involves working with students with Autism and other developmental disabilities, and requires collaboration within a team-based school setting in Chelsea, MA. The position is full-time and includes a five-week summer program starting in 2025; salary range is $63,696.52-$123,530.78 commensurate with experience and education; participation in the Massachusetts Teachers’ Retirement System.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in Shore's approved behavioral safety training program (Safety Care or equivalent)
- Current DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities or Severe Disabilities preferred (candidates near licensure considered)
