Job Summary
Instruct students in elementary grades K-6; develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content and learning activities; assess and provide feedback on student work; design varied assessment tasks; create a classroom environment that supports instruction and student well-being; monitor student progress and maintain documentation; communicate students’ progress with families and staff; collaborate with colleagues to enhance instruction and student outcomes; participate in district and school meetings, conferences, and professional development; demonstrate leadership in curriculum development and alignment to state standards; support diverse learners and foster a culturally competent classroom.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license
- CDE Elementary Education (grades K-6) endorsement
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- Student teaching/practicum/internship experience that meets or exceeds Colorado's requirements
- Formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that are fulfilled to be considered for a position
- Ability to align curriculum and assessments with state content standards
- Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement
- Ability to assume leadership in the development and communication of programs and curriculum
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to participate in Professional Learning Community
- Ability to understand and accommodate student diversity
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to stay current with instructional practice and pedagogy
- Raising student achievement and educational outcomes
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Basic classroom management and planning skills
- Basic organizational skills
- Intermediate verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations skills
